England Away Football Shirt

England football shirts will always sell, it doesn't matter what Umbro do to them. I only have to refer back to the Grey Euro 96 top to prove my point. You can say it looked good with jeans all you like, but it was a horrid fashion mistake.

The current England football shirts aren't bad I have to say. Let's start with the home one that's plain white (obviously) and keeps things very simple. Despite its simplicity, the touches that Umbro have added to the shirt are really nice. I like how the red line leans over one shoulder and the gold Umbro logo and star on either side of the chest are also a triumph. They've played it pretty safe with this shirt but maybe that's what an England shirt should be.

The new England away football shirt is again a very simple and very symmetrical effort from Umbro. But once again though, what they do bring to this shirt works very well. The blue bars across the chest stop the shirt from being too plain and the thin white strip inside the collar is a welcome addition. This shirt harks back to the 86 world cup away top and I like that. There's always room for tradition when it comes to England football shirts.
